James Akers, Chairman for the 2011 Mr and Miss Apollo Birmingham pageant, has announced the date and venue for this year's pageant.
The pageant will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Joe's on Seventh, beginning at 9:00 PM. Admission to this year's event is $10.00. Hosting this year's pageant will be Miss Sha Sha Glamour and Dr. J. Pail Dease. It will also be the feature Mr and Miss Apollo Birmingham 2010, Christopher and Jerrica.
The theme for this year's pageant is "Here for the Party." Contestants will compete in four categories: Interview, Presentation, Talent and Evening Gown / Formal Wear. The Presentation Competition will be based on this year's theme.
Following is the days schedule of events for contestants:
| 3:00 PM | Contestant Registration: Contestant Registration will take place at Illuminations@innerspace, located at 2812 2nd Avenue South, Suite B (the Dr. Pepper Building) |
| 3:45 PM | Interview Competition: Interview Competition will begin immediately following Contestant Registration at Illuminations@innerspace. |
| 4:00 PM | Sound Check / Run Through: As each contestant finishes with the Interview Competition they should immediately proceed to Joe's on Seventh where they will take place in a sound check of their CD/DVD as be allowed to perform a quick rehearsal. |
| 8:00 PM | Contestants must be in the designated Contestant Dressing Room at Joe's on Seventh at 8:00 PM. Contestants should make sure that they have "checked in" with the dressing room monitor at this time. Points will be deducted for any contestant that fails to check in by 8:00 PM |
| 9:00 PM | The pageant Begins. |
